The latest track by Dutch-British artist Someone is a haunting track that is accompanied by a quaint, romantic animated video. Musically, ‘Paris At Midnight’ is laid-back and mostly built around guitars and a double bass, as well as Someone’s instantly recognisable, dreamy vocal. The occasional trumpet interjections are designed to evoke imagers of “a trumpet player wandering the streets of Paris after a show, noodling on his instrument and letting the sound echo down the empty streets.” The animated video was also created by Someone. She manages to craft something truly mesmerising and calming in its beautiful simplicity.
